Constricted with Love

I got to watch my grandkids this week. Monday night to this morning. I was really "nanny" for some 2 1/2 days.
Now I'm home,and although I should be very tired, I can't sleep. I miss the little monkeys!
I miss Lucy's conspiratorial whisper when she wants to tell me something, and the sing-song expression with which she says it. I miss Jackie's hugs, his feeling for my skin and his one-word expressions of excitement! "Dine-di" covers most of the predators in the animal kingdom. And Bowbie- his exuberance and creativity. He's really become a fun little conversationalist.
I think this is on the wrong blog- eh? Oh well- this WAS my life this week.
So, on to the title. I was changing Jack and Bowden had given him his stuffed Anaconda to hold. As he was sitting, it seemed to have gotten wrapped around him. I said something about it, and Bowden declared, "It's constricted him with love!"
I just loved it.
I got constricted with love this week! Starting with last Thursday night, when Selah Paix's warm embrace drew me into such a wonderful joy. And continuing through a busy, child filled week.
The pay off with kids aren't automatic. We have to take the time to constrict and to receive the constrictions with love that they so freely give.
Thanks, Anaconda, for that lesson.
Constricting with love is good!

I LOVE THIS PASSAGE:

This speaks to me on so many different levels. And what He gives us, He gives us to share....
Isaiah 61 1-3

The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me,
Because the Lord has anointed Me,
To preach good tidings to the poor,
He has sent Me to heal the
brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives,
And the opening of the prison to those who are bound.

To proclaim the Acceptable year of the Lord,
And the day of vengeance of our God;
To comfort all who mourn,
To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes,
The oil of joy for mourning,
The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
....
And they shall rebuild the old ruins,
they shall raise up the former desolations...
Instead of your shame, you shall have double honor,
And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in there portion."
